Hi all,

Can how often you update your page make a difference in where its ranked in searches? I mean if you update everyday, and other similar sites not so much, does this help you get higher than them ?

I believe it won't affect. The thing is to get quality backlinks for your site. And good quality content as well..

Updates for the site is necessary. Updatation for the site not mean to you just put anything on site, it's mean to you have to put quality content. Whatever you have put the site it should be unique and qualitative information related to your site.

I tend to disagree with this answer, and not because it's wrong. Search engines love content, content that is rich and unique. The only reason blogs seem to rank better is because of the unique and fresh content they provide, which in turn they get crawled and indexed faster.

Out of all ogf my websites, the ones that get indexed\crawled more often are the ones that I update constantly. When I say update, I don't mean design or color changes. I mean fresh new content on it's own static page.

You will see better crawling and indexing results from updating often, you will not see better search engine rankings.

Content wise - you should update your site as necessary, for your users.

For SERP concern - update as needed on onpage factors to support the keywords you optimize for

In my opinion regular updates positively effects your serp positions.
