Fake Pagerank is when someone attempts to mask or hide the true Pagerank of a web page. Usually for purposes to defraud someone buying a website, domain name or text link. As for the method of how to do it I will not discuss to prevent the spread of this practice.

The process where somebody intentionally hides his websites PR.

this domain has a valid pr and not forged.

i hope you see that it is always important to check for pr fraud.
i always check before i submit to a directory.
i rather submit to a decent pr3 or 4 directory, where the directory owner builds his links the good way.

then go blind on high pr and dont bother to check the pr.

The answer is very very simple..

IGNORE the pointless green bar and you'll never need to bother about useless PR, faked or not, ever again.

i dont agree with you on that.

i know it isnt the best system build yet.

but i bet you that google will finetune the system.

and that quality sites will get good pr.

but that people who will try to cheat the system will get downgraded.

Showing a specific PR but if you check it on other tool which is more accurate, not the same.

In short description fake PR is sites fake PR by looking for the Googlebot, then redirecting it to a high PR site, like Yahoo.com. Google sees that users actually land on Yahoo.com and the PR Bar in turn reflects the PR of the Yahoo.com rather than your site.
