What Dave said. You're a kid, from what I've read (not that there's anything wrong with that). Keep your focus narrow and start by grabbing the low-hanging fruit. Start local in your area...target companies who are local businesses, build their sites, and show that you can do it. From there, if you do it right, word of mouth will usually take over (you'd be surprised at just how powerful word of mouth truly is).
The whole "link building" and "submit to high PR social bookmarking sites" is, quite frankly, a load of grade-A pig crap. If your site is that good and that much of a useful resource, people will take care of the submissions and links for you. That's where content comes into play...have something unique, original, and most importantly useful.
