Ok for most of us internet marketers, we use those long pages with tons of text and feedback.

I don't market that way, but I'm thinking about trying that.

Will people actually read all that?

I've sat sometimes and read them, most of the time though I just skim read to get a summary to see what's going on.

What is your question? - do people read long pages?

The answer is yes, if it's relevant to what they're looking for.

People read them. They're entertaining. I think that's how they get people to buy their eBooks, haha!

They are always broken up into easy to read categories with headlines. This way if somebody chooses to browse they can do so and if somebody wants to read everything they can do that as well.

I read them sometimes but usually get distracted half way through. Too long isnt good but it should still be long enough. Try to keep the reader lured in with something interesting.

Actually I was thinking, maybe making separate pages would be better than 1 long divided page?

If you are planning to do that then I reccomend adding a "hook" at the start of each page.

My experience is that they work great.

I am not reading fully but scrolling trough it to read some part that catches my eyes.

I have a MX1000, so scrolling is a breeze.

Hmm, perhaps use AJAX to open a new section of text? That way it doesn't start off being long, but the further and further they read, the more data appears. (which means they are interested)

Just a wild thought.

Well if they didn't work I think people would stop using them eventually... I've been suckered into scrolling and reading before so I assume it works to some degree haha

I've read a few but mostly just skim to the bottom, what I have started to see lately is some of them don't put their price anywhere on the sales copy you have to go further into the sales process before you can find out the price.

A sales letter will usually only need a 2% response rate to be successful. So if 98% of people say, "What! I'm not reading that long copy." Close the window and bugger off. It doesn't matter.

Cos if the remaining 2% are so juiced up they can'twait to bang those credit car numbers into clickbank and get their hands on the stuff. It works.

These sales letters are aimed at specific demographics and psycographics. You may think, what a bunch of crap, I know I do.

But the point is, they work.

I am working on developing my own copywriting skills, so I can write juicey sales letters than will glue eyeballs to the text whilst I make em gimme the money.

I will be marketing my copywriting services when I have more time.
