There are many Article sites out there with Articles to be copied and used upon your own sites no matter what the subject matter is , and they are a decent way to add content to your sites.
But there are a few things to remember :

1) This content by itself will not do you much good in the long run as it is not "original" and the Search Engines will notice this. I find the best thing to do to keep it mixed up is to Write a well thought out response on the Pro's and Con's of the said article. There are way too many sites using the same article by itself - You need to stand out a little bit to get the deserved attention

2) Always Give Credit to the Creator of the Articles. This is generally mandatory anyway , but often times - People avoid linking out to the original creator / source for some reason. Give them credit  - They deserve it and it's just Good etiquette to do so.

3) This one should be a "Given" - But make sure the Article(s) are relative to your site. I think it's silly to find a "Game" site with a article about "Mesothelioma" on it just because people found out it is / was a hot PPC item at one time. LOL - believe it or not , I have seen this

4) This door goes two ways - If You write articles , Post them on the article sites as well. It's a great way to get Incoming links from relative sites and can help your site get crawled quicker by the Engines if it is new still.

I think most of this is Content Basics - But it is always a good thing to point out every once in a while for Veterans and Noobs in this industry.

Good Luck and may the SEO Force be with you

Good advice. If you do a search on an article from ArticleCity, you'll see that there's about a thousand other sites that are using the same article. You most likely won't rank well in the search engines with that.

Unless I don't have a choice, I prefer to write everything myself. At least I know that the content is valid and it's not just bullcrap

especially point four is often forgotten, but indeed a great way to get more (relevant) inbound links!

I realize that traffic is important and understand about the implications of utilizing free articles;however, I've always just thought...what would my readers enjoy reading?

I cherry-pick through article sites and share them with my readers. I write original content, as well.

Everyone has a different approach to things, but sometimes you have to ask yourself.."How's that working for ya?"

If you have enough original content, I see no reason not to also include these free articles. Just keep in mind that duplicate content may affect your site ranking, so try and keep a good balance regarding original/free articles.

Beware of duplicate content pentalies. A lot of e-sellers have been getting knocked down in the SERPs because they use generic copied product descriptions on their pages. If you're using entire ARTICLES...don't be surprised if it happens to your site too.
