interesting question,
301 redirects would prevent the risc of duplicate content, but is youre SiteAB.com a new domain or an existing one?. If its new it won't have an established PR and therefor you risk a drop in the SERps if you just 301 redirect the whole site.
interesting problem....

The toolbar won't show the PR until the next PR update..but it will still have the same ability to rank
yeah, from what i've seen, the pagerank should carry over if you 301 redirect it to the other page.
but what about the SERPs? will the pages of the old domain move out quick or will they stay on their old rankings long enough for the new domain to catch up?

If done correctly, it should be a smooth transition... The next time the pages get cached, the new domain should go into the serps. I have done this many times with new directories without any problems at all.

what exactly would be correctly?
Furthermore, If I have 10K + of pages, and I want to 301 redirect them all, would that slow down the server or wouldn't it matter?

I changed directories for a hotel site that has over 50k hotel info pages indexed and it didn't affect the serps or the server at all.
When I said "correctly" I was actually referring to the type of redirect... Make sure you use a 301. Believe it or not, I've still had people try to use 302's and meta refreshes to get the job done... Then they ask me after the fact why it didn't work... DUMB
