If I have made changes to my site, how can I get the new changes indexed more quickly? Or do I simply have to wait until the spiders find the new changes on my site?

If it is already an existing page that is being spidered and cached regularly, then you just have to wait... If the pages are brand new, then you can speed up the indexing by getting some new high quality inbound links to those deep pages.
Make sure that you're viewing pages w/o Adsense though. You definitely wanna keep your CTR up in the process!
Go grab yourself an auto refresh toolbar for ie if your going that route. Less work.

Get as much as inbound links as possible (and without reciprocical links if is possible) you can start with dmoz lii joeant ...
I agree with everything above except the DMOZ.. that about made me fall of my chair. If you can manage to get in DMOZ then great but I have a site that hasn't made it into DMOZ in 2 years. Sorry to get off topic.
