So I'm an uber-newbie to SEO but ive heard a little bit about this "sandboxing" rumor. My friend told me, in general its best to get your sites up and get some kind of content so google knows they are there.

So i have about 6 cool domains just chillin with nothing at all on them. I plan to start developoing some of them eventually.

One project I am currently working on with a team should be online within 6 months.

What do you reccommend i put on these domains to start warming them up to google?

Is it smart to put some starter content up there with keywords? Or is it okay to just have a "coming soon..." image? I'm guessing it might be best to get some relevent content in there for google to start crawling while we develop the sites?

Thanks.

When I purchase a domain that I intend to develop or resell I will put up a QUALITY article split into 1-5 pages along with some photos and then either submit it to a few directories or just let it sit (The spiders will find it eventually).

After a few months I revisit the ones that are getting traffic and make my next move based on those stats.

With domains I know I can't get to for a long while, I park them on Sedo. The benefit is, someone may make an offer and buy it for a good price and they pay for click on the pages.

For domains I plan to work on within a year, I place a RSS news feed with the topic I plan to monitize and a few basic articles. Also make sure all the tags are in use. So at least the clock starts ticking on age.

And a side note about the "sand box". You can bypass this by getting tons of high rank one-way links or buy a old domain that ranks for your target and 301 it.
