Like the thread posted in monetization asking lee and the big earners about their specialty, I thought SEO pros and wannabes like me might share advice :helpsmilie: with newer people. I've given SEO review tips at SitePoint, and explained the basics of a site SEO review on my blog, City SEO (see sig). (Though SEOMoz apparently disagrees on using Google for checking backlinks.)
Long story short: Have an SEO question? Post it here, and I, or others will try and respond. Who am I? No guru, but I've achieved #1 rankings on fairly tough words, and developed some pretty sweet link bait before, so...

Hopefully Lee'll sticky this .

Oh, and since this looks cool : :taz: :taz: :taz:

You'd think this would be as popular as the Ask Lee thread...

And here I was thinking Lee's success generated interest... meaning my previous rankings would generate interest. meh.

I also have to agree with seomoz on not using Google for checking your backlinks, simply because Google doesnt show you all the links they have indexed, unlike Yahoo! or MSN.

the link: command in google is infact broken.

but you can get around it very easily...

.yourdomain. -site:yourdomain.com

google that. You will get all pages that have yourdomain in its text as indexed, and will exclude your domain from the results.

I dunno about a top 5 in either direction but here are some suggestions I'd make for you...

-Get a better meta description. Use complete sentences and make good (non-spammy) use of your keywords.
-Mix up your alt tags...be honest about what's in the images.
-Get your ASP code to generate HTML if possible.
-Put some images next to each type of car link on your reviews page and next to your adsense blocks.

the firefox extension is a great one, i've been using it for a few weeks now and loving the easy access to information.
On a related note, I'll be posting some links to tools on my site later today, for anyone interested. (This'll be edited with a link once that's done).

As to top tips... I was introduced to SEO by Yaro Starak. The 80-20 of SEM is a great resource for beginners.
