Hey, I've created the website Treatments for Mesothelioma
because it's a packed category and I want to see what I can learn about SEO by building, expanding, and changing it.

I'm also using it to learn about targetting keywords for earning more money via advertisers.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for competing in a packed category, and if there's anything that people can suggest to get this site ranked well.

Did you do any keyword research before you built the site? Since this topic is heavily targeted, I would look for those keywords related to your topic that don't have much competition.

Get more and longer articles.
Are there any related RSS feeds available?

why are you using H2 for the title.. and h3 and h4 for the others?
Im not sure whether google treats H1 different from H2, but i'd use H1 etc..

about the adsense placement:

I would try to remove the banner at the top and place a bigger square in the text (and more)

Right now people will ignore the banner and if they click, they click on the ad blended in the text.
But because the banner is at the top, the highest paying ads are also in the banner at the top, and not in the text where people will click more....
