I noticed that i was getting linkbacks from a new site and saw that this was from a total spammer-scraper site. This person copied the first 2 sentances from a couple of my blog posts and then linked back to my site. Do you think something like this would effect my rankings and count as duplicate content? I wasnt sure if it would be a big deal or not because he did give me a link and it was only the first couple sentences. But recently i noticed a big drop in my rankings for MSN and Yahoo. I got his email off of whois and im not sure if i should get him to take it off or not because there's 4 links to my site off his page. Any ideas if this couls effect rankings or not?

If your site was indexed before his was then his would be considered duplicate content. And if he's linking to you from his pages, then that's just more backlinks for you, right? (Although they're probably close to worthless if the search engines see it as spam).

It is possible that what he's doing is making your rankings drop, but I doubt it.

Hes using 2 lines of your text... whether or not you were indexed frist... don't worry about it.

I have the exact same problem as well, however the link back is done via a proxy service...

Scroll down to the very bottom and you'll see the link back which is done though the proxy service.
