I have one question about indexed pages. If I write site:www.mydomain.com is it the same thing as site:mydomain.com ? if I write site:mydomain.com I get a lot of pages but on the other hand if i write site:www.mydomain.com I just see my index page.

Thanks

site:example.com is likely to bring up all subdomains listed pages while site:www.example.com will only bring up pages listed in the main domain (www effectively being a subdomain)

Strange, because I just used and got similar results with and without WWW

And I prefer to use WWW because when I check "Find web pages that contain the term..." - this gives more results that are likely to be links.

What you're discussing is how well-spidered your site is. Therefore, why not look at another parameter? How frequently are spiders dropping by? look at your cached page, and track how often it updates. For example, I have a PR 5 crawled once a week, more or less.

Around the time of the Big Daddy update, Google began showing a preference for www pages (as opposed to non-www pages). Which of the two Google shows more of depends on a number of factors, including your internal linking and your inbound links. Just get some 301's in place to send your non-www's to your www's and give G a few weeks to pick up on it.
