i'm just curious how accurate others are finding page rank. my main blog thegarageblog.com only has a pr of 3 and i post 2-6 times a day in it. my other 2 blogs (one is still on blogger) get very little traffic (we haven't marketed them yet) and only get new posts weekly and yet they are pr 5.

PR is a function of the amount of backlinks, so your content and posting frequency doesn't affect it directly. Maybe that other guy just did some marketing stunts?

I feel PR is fairly useless. One of my domains has had nothing but a splash page for nearly a year and has a PR of 4. Then again, I've seen great content sites that are updated daily that have a PR of 2/3.

Let's not mention how easy it is to manipulate your PR either.

It doesn't matter how much you update, it's the amount of backlinks you have. You could have a 1 page site and get a PR 6 if you had more backlinks than some giant site that gets a PR 4.

How often does PR update? and is there a schedule somewhere?

PR update in the toolbar it's 4 times in year. Last one was before maybe 2-3 weeks.

Real Google's PR it's updated simultaneously but we don't see it.
PR still have some value - it's one of the 200+ factors for rankings, but how much he affect it's hard to say.

For backlinks it's important quallity more that quantity.
