Whats up all,

I saw a few post that mentioned how google flags sites which have duplicate content.

How is this possible, i mean if you look at some of the popular article and content sites which have our articles on them. They have articles on their sites that have probably been submitted to hundreds of other sites as well, so in theory these sites would be flagged by google, right?

Also I had a question about my personal articles that i have submitted to article directories. Would it be a bad thing to have those articles on my blog and/or my website? One the same domain?

thanks

This is a big misnomer. Google does not penalize you for having an few articles or rss feeds from other sites. The duplicate filter is more for if you created three websites with exactly the same conent/layout on all the sites and try to manipluate the search engines by placing links to your site from all those duplicate sites. It also penalizes mirror websites.

But, if you submitted article and then posted it on your web site and this article got indexed by Google on the public resource (let it be, EzineArticles, for example) faster and on your site after that - then for Google it means that you are duplicating content from EzineArticles.

As EzineArticles is a more reputable resource, for Google your site is less trusty than EzineArticles.

Funny, isn't it?

And there is a way to automatically solve the dup content problem. Send me Pm if you still need this solution.
