What, exactly, is "Domain Cloaking"?

I may be violating a Google rule.

I have two domain names that point to the same site. The reason I did this are:

1) One domain name withe keywords in the title for the search engines and websites (long hard to type name).

2) A much shorter name for print ads.

I really hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot.

You should be fine if it's a permament htaccess redirection...(if you have used htaccess for redirection.)
If it's a DNS pointing, build links for just 1 of them. Many people do that for typo domains of their primary domain.

When you have a site with a homepage hard optimized for robot with spam and you are redirecting the users to another page, you are doing "Cloaking"

use of 301 redircts to redirect visitors from spam spages. Google indexes the spam and a user is redirected to a link page or affiliate page.

just make sure that both domains aren't getting indexed. if you're going to start buying a lot of domains to forward to that one domain, you should look into setting up a 301 funnel

Yes, if you want to do cloaking, make sure that main domaine is getting indexed well cause the cloaking gives you results for a few time.
