Google says no. And there is some truth to it. On a basic level, inclusion of adsense ads makes no difference. But, depending upon the way a bot indexes the page, it make index the ads. What does this mean? It means that if it indexes the text and link in an Adsense ad, and it does that alot more often than it does other ads, then your PR can be improved if someone searches for something in the ad. For example, if I run a dvd site, and a google ad for dvd burners gets indexed, my site might come up in a search for dvd burners, especially if I already had a good PR.

hmmmm nice theory - however it works the other way too - if its indexing the ads then that is more outgoing links from your page - ok a few links wont make much of a difference but you never know.

Google ads shouldn't really help your PR. Unless there is supreme content in your ads that would make a spider want to index the ad. Content and backlinks are mainly for PR. If a newly create page contains enough high end content, than a spider will index that page, and it will then be connected to your main page, making it one.
