No, its not an affiliate thingee.

It's like a blog with less upkeep. The pros here should see the power pretty quickly.

It's a free & easy one page "lens" to focus attention on one subject. I've just been using it a couple of weeks and have put together nine lenses so far. Almost everything is pre-structured - there is not a lot of extra coding that can be done.

This is my list of Squidoo lenses - take a look.

It can make a little cash for you or a charity; but a primary value seems to be in adding links to your other ventures.

enjoy

yes, as pearse said "parasite seo" / "parasite hosting".. squidoo is fine for that purpose, but there are other sites out there where you can put up legit stuff and get much better rankings and conversions (as in people clicking on to your site).

it's all about "trust" in the eyes of Google.

Nope, not wikipedia... since it's not to obtain rankings for my own sites, but to get the pages referring to my sites, to rank... how about netscape etc.

Just keep it targeted and people will click on to your story..

Netscape is a wonderful source. Wikipedia brings some of my sites a ton of traffic, not to mention it can rank you for lower comp keyterms quickly. There are other sites like planzon that can pull some termage. Still loving the blog design Stefan.

Wikipedia does indeed bring good traffic. But for optimization against specific keywords I find Netscape much better at passing on the traffic.

And thanks Pearse!

Actually I took the time to put in reasonable content. In fact my lenses are getting a fair google position already for a couple of keywords. I've only made these lenses over the last couple of weeks, but traffic is building nicely.

I think google likes squidoo.

I made a couple of groups, one called The Mall, that seem to help also.

Let's call it Symbiotic SEO rather than parasitic.

I wont argue you on the Netscape point. It is a blessing and I am there daily. The nice thing is that it sticks like crazy and when you hit that front page.... that is a nice traffic jump. The stuff I push to the front page tends to get deleted though so when I want something to stick I don't push that hard. Social media is wonderful.

About Google eating up Squidoo... I agree. Its trusted and can provide a nice source of juice. I find it is great for kick starting up some event specific sites if you have the time to get everything indexed a few months before the event.

I have also used Squidoo for eating up multipe front page positions... Nothing better than seeing 5 or six things that belong to you on that first page for a well trafficked term.

How do you get your links into Wikipedia? Just edit low traffic articles, add your link and hope no one notices?

i would advise against this but as an alternative you could use both squidoo and myspace.

but however myspace is by far the best has the most memeber and is bound to give you more success. but it would hurt using both.

i am still thinking you posted this as you want to get people to view your affiliate links....oh well.

Jesterx,

Take a look, I don't think there are any affiliate links except perhaps to amazon or it's ilk, more habit than profit.

Squidoo is something that has easily brought responses to my main site, and will continue to do so - and BFU is not an affiliate thingee.

Better yet ignore it. A skeptic would never believe I did it because I have found value here and wanted to return value.

I also have no competition from here that I know of - how many want to run a free university at a loss?

That's what I thought.

By the way if you look at the Squidoo forum you will see I may give The Mall away (on my terms).

enjoy
