I don't know why that'd make me use both of them.
It's detailed, it'd be nice if you mention why you'd use both.
Does using both of them have their disadvantages?
Im not telling you to answer, but it'd be useful to us.

You say that one should use both. I'd say that for many niches and different types of sites, either PPC or SEO would be a lot better. It really depends on the purpose of the traffic whether one should use PPC, SEO or both.

Maybe you should take the time to make an article that's a bit more comprehensive.

is BlueHat SEO. Definetly worth a read, and will probably inspire some new project that is going to take up some of your valuable time.

So what you've got 70 sites, if you don't use both SEO and PPC for all of them I find it conflicting with what you're writing.

I focus on what gives the best profit with the least amount of work.

You'll always be able to find somebody who agrees... After reading the article I found yours to be pretty much a summary of the above..!? Secondly, the article above is messed up since he talks about PPC and SEM, which should have been PPC and SEO. SEM is referring to either just PPC, or marketing through search in general - depending on who's saying it...

I am currently doing SEO for all of my sites and PPC for 30- 40 sites and trying and will soon be doing PPC for all sites this doesn't means that i will never do SEO or PPC for them

Agree it's the best practice to do the best profit work first but what you do when this work failed ? as i mentioned suppose Google changes it algorithm
So not depend on a single work

Google and the other search engines change their algorithm and ranking factors all the time. There's constant fluctuations in search traffic because of that, and changes in search trends etc.

If you're worried about algorithm changes then you're either paranoid or you're aware of you SEO not being diversified enough. Good SEO is also geared towards big algorithm changes e.g. not relying on singe link building methods, single sites, single on-page factors etc. etc.

Why waste time on maintaining a PPC campaign if there's a bigger payoff from the same time and money being spent on organic SEO? If it should ever happen that search engines make such big changes that I lose too much traffic, then I'll just begin with PPC at that point. And vice versa...

Making a statement like yours, that people should use both PPC and SEO, is almost the same as saying that people should use ALL internet marketing tactics available... No matter the website there's always methods that are more cost-effective than others (which might not even be PPC or SEO), and that's the methods you should focus on for the particular website.

FYI, my filter blocked this link for "Sex". Might want to address that while we're on the topic of seo

I also don't agree with many of the statements you made in your analysis.

One of the biggest things that I constantly see overlooked by webmasters or people who are just starting out in e-business is the principle of opportunity cost. People claim SEO is cheap or free. It's not. What is the opportunity cost of learning successful SEO yourself? The opportunity cost of your trials and errors? If you decide to outsource to an experienced professional, take it from me: it ain't cheap!

Also, and please don't take offense to this because it's really not my intention to offend, but I can tell looking at your blog that it was designed with a dated SEO methodology in mind and gives far too much real estate to adsense blocks. Couple that with the fact that my websense filter seems to think it's a sex site and, if you'll excuse me for saying so, I think learning more about SEO and general modern web design should be a priority of yours if you are interested in blogging about the subject.
