Google helps me eat, pay for my car, and school. Anyone that does that DOES NOT suck by any means. :P

what about the fact that they keep buying out small guys? reminds me of another big tech company whose new OS has already been found to have a sucky bug...
and the oil companies stocks are rising, but their effect on the environment definitely classes them in the 'sucks' category. don't want to get into politics though, i'm just digressing.

I don't care too much for Google for a few reasons. First off, I don't care for how their algorithm is messed up. It puts too much weight on older, out-dated, big sites when I am looking for (or promoting) a much smaller niche site. Secondly, I think they are losing their edge. They are not innovating any more and seem to be just finding new ways to profit from their existing market share. They also pay (via adsense) countless spammers to create low quality websites that annoy me.

Google Adsense does make up about half of my income. However, I'm not one to kiss up to someone just because they benefit me. I use Google because it is in my best interest to do so, not because I like them.

As for oil companies being evil. When Mt. St. Helens blew, it let out more gases into the atmosphere than all of man's machines put together since the industrial revolution. Just a quick fact to put things in perspective.

Seriously dude, don't you get any traffic from Googe? Google is the mother of all traffic senders and any traffic I can score for free is good.

I love Google but i hate Adsense....

No reasons..they just never tell you before they deactivate your account...you dont even know the reasons to prevent from future deactivation....your accounts again and again

i'm not complaining because I get no traffic, I'm saying Google SUCKS because their market share means they get away with murder. and like JD said, their bias towards old sites makes for garbage SERPs in a variety of verticals, even those that aren't high margin/spam friendly. whereas many blogs would have better, more current content, I see Google ranking crusty old web 1.0 hubs and that sort of thing. boooooring. uuuuuuuseless.

No doubt all good things in this world suck but that is negligible compared to the several other benefits that one gets from them. It has certainly proved to be a major contributor for almost all kinds of online business.
Those who have money and power and an excellent good-will in the market always try to expand and keep growing everyday.

Asking webmasters about Google is like a grammar school popularity contest.

People whose sites are doing well in G will generally love it, those who got clobbered in the latest update will hate it. I spread my personal searches out between Google and Yahoo because I have seen the quality of google's results fall in the past 6 months. As for site design and SEO, most of my attention goes to Google and I generally pick up Y! and MSN positions in the process.

That's a good point... an seo starting out could make a killing as the yahoo or MSN specialist, though with the current state of their algos, that isn't extremely difficult.

yeah Google sucks, more or less de-indexed one of my sites again so I've lost 45% of my traffic.

Google rocks. Have yet to find a better alternative for Search Engine or Ad Provider wise.

Anybody that thinks Google sucks needs to try Yahoo Search Marketing! Unless you pay their almost $200 fee for the upgraded version, their ad entry system is practically unusable.

With their slick system and easy to use analytics, I think Google Rocks!
