So I have now learnt that to exchange links I would have to put a link on my website in exchange for a link on there web page which is what I have been hearing all along.

So if I were to have five or ten twenty or thirty plus links on my web page just to have one link pointing back whether they be good links or not. You would have a web page covered in links that would look like something from Night Mare On Elm Street.

Enough to scare any potential investor away, if you think I’m right please say so but for now the hunt for links stills goes on. :detective:

Well, it depends. It may scare away investers but if done right shouldn't harm your image in the eyes of customers especially if the links are to helpful sites. It is just another way of getting exposure. Obviously though it depends on the type of site.

You know what scares me away though is that nice affiliate site in your sig :P

link exchanges aren't a very good way to get links any more. The search engines don't value them and they require a lot of work. I would advise trying to find other methods of link building.

I second that. Build/request/beg for natural links from sites within your industry or niche. It requires more work but you're at much less of a risk of losing your ranking when google changes its algorithm.
