Hey everyone,

As everyone knows, techniques and ideas completely differ, depending on who your talking to, but I'd like to get the opinion of a few of the main posters here:

What's your thoughts/ideas on keyword density? Through my personal experiences, it seems obvious to include the keywords your trying to rank for, but then again I've also heard using keywords more then you normally would, basically flooding, isn't a good thing either.

The best idea I've read about, is to use similar search terms, basically synonyms of the keywords you're trying to rank for. (IE: Myspace Layouts, Myspace Templates).. What are your thoughts?

I don't think Google uses keyword density for ranking, but I'm sure they use it to filter out spammy, keyword stuffed pages though.

I'd try to write naturally and then look over the content to make sure that the keyword dominates the page. Then I'd make sure I had the keyword in the page <title> tag and a close variation of the keyword (eg a plural or -ing version where appropriate) in an <h1> tag.

Cheers,
Paz.

Though not directly, but indirectly keyword density helps in getting higher ranks on Google. As a thumb rule, 4-7% desity works fine, however, the figure should vary depending on the domain and theme of the website/webpage.

To add, proximity is eually important in this context.

Spot on, in my opinion. Natural, well written content tends to be high in useful keywords anyway.
