I'm happy to announce that my site ranked #1 in google's search results today (4/5/07). In fact, the site was ranked #1 and #2 out of 77,200,000 returned results.

Search term: second life business forums

It also ranked #8 out of 154,000,000 results for search term: second life forums.

Hey, isn't that Second Life, the game? I didn't know there could be business forums based on that?!

I recently saw a good result for one of my partner's old blog sites, although that wasn't quite as impressive as yours... #1 in Google for our main niche term. Unfortunately the blog isn't used anymore though, so made no money from it. (If anyone is interested in reading more about it, there's a post about it in our blog - see sig).

Thanks everyone. Yes, it is a second life business forum for the second life business niche. In theory I attempted to model it after the success of EF but the success has been limited.

Why? I think my success has been limited by the popularity of second life. It's actually NOT that popular (only about 5,250,000 members at the time I write this) and a small fraction of those are active.

Because its so small, im having a difficult time monetizing with CPA and other types of ads.

Adsense has been the only monetization so far and that has worked poorly/slightly above poorly. It usually earns about $100 every 3 months from adsense.

I hope being #1 in my niche on google helps the organics, I will report back when I get more stats.
