Should I decrease my Adword budget?

I heard from one of my webmaster friend that it is more profitable to run Ads on Overture than Adword if I am into selling some kind of products and not information...

He also told me that Google is rather an information portal, while Yahoo! is more business oriented. Commercial visitors know this, and therefore, I should decrease my Adword budget and proportionately increase budget on Overture.

I am in a fix... An advice will be great.

you really have to make tests yourself and then find out your own answer, it might vary depending on the products and sales page.

Dont listen to anyone's advice but your own on stuff like that. If you're not making money from your AdWords campaigns, you should consider every possible reason before blaming Google, including:

-The quality of your landing page to viewers
-The quality score of your landing page to Google
-The ads you've written
-Your choice of search terms, match types and campaign settings
-The quality of your product/service and its price
-Who you're targeting

I appreciate your viewpoint. I am targeting the same class with the identical landing page being promoted on Adword and Overture. Taking the scenario into consideration, the two SEs have shown varied results.

Google: I bid low, get more traffic, yet slightly lower ROI.
Yahoo!: I bid high, get less traffic, yet results into higher ROI.

What am I doing wrong?

I suggest hittail.

Sorry for recommending it here so many times, it's just that good for natural seo and getting away from adwords over the long term.

I'm going to put it in my sig.

Are you using their content networks or just search networks?

Adwords can get you in traffic but with Yahoo the conversion rate is higher if you compared the stats.

My best advice is not to listen to anybody on this subject as the final answer. Test and track all your ads with these two biggest search engines. You may get surprised when you see the results.

Max, I do completely believe what you have said. The prorogative is to reassure that if I am on the right track (as per all yours prior experience) and further scope of improvement, if any.
Thanks!

I would say everything is averaged. If you do both yahoo and google for 365 days with identical ads they will be somewhat averaged with percentage. You can't really base something on a small amount of time and hits. You really need large amounts of stats to compare equally is what im getting at.
