I thought that this site was a dud. It was a shame because I spent the most time on this one. It has all unique content, some unique pictures, really worked hard on SEO on this site. I forgot to add a channel for it in adsense. Since I never even saw one impression I didnt bother to look into it. I just figured that I am a newb to SEO and that it isnt a very common travel place.

Well, today I decided to check my tracking on it. Found out that I have top rankings above the fold for a lot of good keywords. My main page is still not above the fold or even on the first page but almost all of my subpages are above the fold for their keywords. Not much traffic for this cause as I said it isnt one of the most popular travel spots.

In the last month i have had 126 visitors. This isn't a lot but hey, untill today I thought I was getting nothing. Plus, 99% of those are all from the SERPs. Mostly google but some AOL and MSN.

So I am wondering what you think of the content, design, and the SEO I did on it. Below are some info on the SEO...

Below are keywords that when typed into google will show my site or one of its subpages above the fold...

There are some more that I dont feel like listing now. For expert SEOs out there - Am I on the right track with SEO? I have been using these same tactics with all my new sites and they are all getting traffic already.

-The size of your text makes me want hit "Back". Make it larger. If it were me, I'd also work on the navigation and make the header image shorter.

You've got way too many dead pages.

-If you're not doing link exchanges, remove the link to it from the top of your page. If you are doing link exchanges, remove the link to it from the top of your page.

-Get a contact page with an address and preferably a phone number up. Get a privacy policy page too.

-Don't put a view gallery link if there is no gallery to view.

-Make longer meta descriptions and make sure you've got them on each page.

-Consider also offering versions of the site in other languages

-Take the http:// off of your header

-Use your H1 tags

-Don't send people off your site for things you could do ON your site (such as currency conversion)

Thanks for the tips rob. On my newer travel site that uses the same layout but different header picture and content, I am using h1 tags instead of the bold tag. I am planning to change over all the headers on this site to h1 tags as well. Just out of curiosity, what does the http:// in the header do to hurt me?

I know I have to work on getting all of the pages up. I have a lot of that on all of my sites, missing contact pages and such. Thanks again for responding.
