Something mysterious happened and all of a sudden my site is missing in Google.

Earlier, my sites were on page 1 of google for selected keywords. My sites are nowhere to be seen in google now. No where in the top 20 pages. Even the blog results disappeared overnight. What could be the reason? I don't understand what could have happened to my site. Any body here faced this problem?

Just continue your site as you were (assuming you weren't doing anything Black Hat

) and continue to get links out. I've heard that prior to PR updates the SERPS can get weird. So just wait it out.

it might be coming back, it happens several time to me too..make sure google still has your site indexed..if not, most likely banned..

Do you mean your rankings have dropped or that your site is no longer in the index?

Back to my SERP problem, Last night on Sep2nd I had noticed that my site got its place back into the Google...this time on 2nd page. But it faded away from the results again on Sep3rd …no where again. May be something like DANCING. So presently what i could do is...leave that for sometime.

Most of the members feel that I should add the content to the site. But in my website I review the products ... so addition of the content on regular basis is not possible. Only possibility is that the content can be modified.

So keeping in mind, I've started a BLOG at Online Software Downloads . I used to post articles in the BLOG. Even that got good SERP. But last week, I've started a new blog (Top eBooks & Software Downloads) thinking that a new domain will be fresh and seperate.

So the present problem is should i consider updating the old blog which has url extension ....or should i go with a brand new domain.

Please do suggest me the BEST option.

Update your website homepage , then monitor what will happen.

Or use "Web Optimization Easy" compare your site with the new top 10 ranking website.

Today also I've observed that my SERP's came back and stayed for 2-3 hours and went off. What is it?

A typical mood swing of google. I read in others forum that this has been happening frequently lately due to internal updates. Don't fret as this is something that is temporary. Just continue on with building on your SERP for the meantime

If you have few sites with very similar coding you can get duplicate content penalty. I got it on y 3 celeb sites. I recoded 2 of them and they are back on 1st page of Google SERP and 3rd site (the strongest one) that i didn's recode is stuck on page 4...but it can be from different reasons...Inspect all different reasons for possible penalty or ban. You have a lot articles on the web with this subject.

check to see if you rank for the exact phrase of your blog title. if you don't rank, it's safe to say you probably have been penalized... if so, find out what you did and fix it.

I've checked it. It is not penalized.

No change in external links. Even the PR went high but SERP down.

A change in your title tags may have done it or too many reciprocal links.

First, I would check to make sure the your site is still indexed, which I would imagine it is if it's showing up at all.

Second, rankings can fluctuate frequently. There are many reasons of how or why this is happening. Some, could possibly be:

-Competition increasing
-Losing backlinks
-Backlinks being discounted
-Updates to your site-structure
-Internal links and content
-Updates within the search engine
-Duplicate content

These are just a few criteria which will affect your site. My advice to you, is to keep building backlinks (shoot for some high quality ones), and make sure to add content frequently to make sure your pages gets crawled more often.

Also, I have a question for you. Are you dropping for multiple keywords, or are you dropping for only one?

I have seen sites which were in the top 10 for a keyword drop out of the top 100 within a week, then eventually shoot back up. Most of the time, backlinks and anchor text played a major role. If you recently started to target another keyword with your link building campaign, then your chances of dropping off with a previously targeted one are good.
