Have you ever thought about how big an industry is? How many people actually work as SEOs or who are the people looking up SEO information. One would assume that for X amount of SEOs only Y amount of them are actually vocal.

So Danny Sullivan polled his search engine land visitors recently asking them about their work and experience.

65% worked in SEO for more than 3 years, of which 40% said more than 5 years.

Only 30% of them work at a SEO firm, of which 25% work for a company as a search marketer.

According to Danny, they aren't done 'crunching the numbers' from the survey and he will release more information in the near future. I wonder how many people took place in the survey?!:2guns::innocent::lol:

I am in the Seo industry as well, but only for my sites... No time to take care about other people's sites.

I've been contacted by a big IM guru lately, but I refused to work for him... I don't work for others.

Many companies help to promote the websites,
which will highly involve with seo business.
I think tons of companies exist now as being related with pagerank topics.

I am in the industry. I work at an advertising agency and my responsibilities include managing PPC, SEO, e-commerce, and all other aspects of online marketing.

Of course, I also do all that with my own businesses too.

I've been doing it for a year now. I've had around 50 clients and before that I did or tried to do the SEO work on my own sites. I was still learning at the time. :turned:

Yeah, Im a blackhatter, tackling the search engines is fun and easy, so im in the industry, but as for who? Myself!
