Link building is the key for an effective SEO campaign. This works best for PR and SERP. Always provide useful and relevant content in your websites niche as this will help in quality organic linking - sites will naturally link to your site once they see unique and helpful information in your site. Keep in mind that the more targeted backlinks you build for your site, the more likely it will bring in the right visitors that could make the conversions for better revenue. You do targeted link buidling for fast and long term traffic to your sites.

There are several ways to build links. Here are just some of the following:

Directory Submissions - targeted links at high PR directories
Blog and Forum Postings - to high PR and frequently crawled sites
Social Bookmarking
Classified Ads
Article Marketing - submit to high PR directories, could also serve as link baits
Link Exchange - with relevant sites authority sites
Link Baits - for organic linking
Etc. etc.

What are your thoughts? What kind of link building method do you use and how effective has it been?

I use directory submissions a lot, to get my sites going. I do some link exchanges on linkpages and some content links for seo. Most of my sitewide exchanged are for traffic, not for serp benefits.

I actually was successful with some "dollar link page" submissions. They boosted my PR and serps quite a bit at the time I did them. Havn't done that in a while though.

Write some articles related to your website (better for niche websites) and put them on ezinearticles.com.

Be sure to include a link to your site in the article (but follow guidelines). You will get about 10 uniques a day from each article. Plus the added SEO benefit. If your targeting a keyword make sure to use the appropriate keyword for your link.

Thats a good idea. I have been planning to write articles for my sites to promote them on article sites. Swefx, how reliable are these sites as far as publisher's keeping all of the links you put in the text?

Classifed ads is a great way to general traffic and exposure if you have physical products and services. Do source out those classifieds that allow digital products if you are selling ebooks.

And best of all, classifieds provide good ROI if your copywriting is good with little amount of work!

I love article marketing as a mid to long term sort of strategy for getting targeted traffic.

If I want to spam, I would have included a link in my post... the idea is to get comments and get other insights from other forum members so as to share and learn more techniques
