Hi all.
Recently I have exchanged links with another site. The guy placed my link on his blog. Lets call it "xxx" blog. My link on his blog looks in the following way:

<a href="http://www.mysite.com/" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker('/outbound/www.mysite.com/?ref=http_//forums.digitalpoint.com/private.php?do=showpm_pmid=12741290');">My anchor text</a>

I wonder if such a link will be indexed by google and counted as a "vote" for my site. If I'm not mistaken javascript here is used to track visitors who leave the site, but as far as I know links containing javascript elements are not crawled by search engines.

I looked in Yahoo's site explorer. Yahoo indexes the same kind of links from this blog to other sites.

Let me know what your think.

Links created by javascript aren't indexed, because they're invisible to bots who don't run the script. But links with javascript in them, attached to a method handler, like the one above, are the same as any other. Google's bots won't click the link, and they won't run the event handler. But it's still an anchor with an href.

That is a regular hyperlink syntax, the javascript added inside of it is for Google analytics to track how many outbound clicks there are. This link will be indexed just fine by Google.

If you have made LE, your LE should go like this:

<a href="siteURL">anchor texr</a>
