The link is a redirect? I presume its not SEO friendly..

I think it would be followed but it is not a good SEO practice. It is better to do apache rewrites so the URLs with dynamic characters (?, &, $) will be replaced with a keyword-rich URL.

Does it matter if you get real traffic from it?

Thanks for your replies, however I meant the link on the page. If you take a look at http://www.citylocal.co.uk/business/...ddingServices/, there is a link to an external site which is http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/...ness_id=216867

I presume http://www.citylocal.co.uk/frontend/...ness_id=216867 is not SEO friendly for the resulting site?
