Your choice;
either carry the news stories or not. Or just have the one site.

But then again
when the choices for being shown in the SERPs are between your site(s) or Reuters and Yahoo! news, Which do you think are going to be filtered out???

You dont have to worry on duplicate content issue coz its not a big deal anymore.

Would you please elaborate on this? If duplicate content is not an issue we would see people ripping of sites (I know people do that right now too) and become millionaires (that doesn't happen often)

Duplicate content isn't really an issue, but wholesale copying of pages IS

Duplicate content seems to get filtered out sometimes, and sometimes it will not. An interesting test is paste a rather large string from a very famous historical novel into Google with quotes around it. As you will see, several sites will not be filtered out, but the majority will; if you look at "all search results" you will see which ones have been.

I think when most people refer to duplicate content they are talking about content which is duplicated across pages on the SAME website.

What you are talking about is really copied content which is another matter entirely. Content copied from other sources is generally given less weight in Google than sites with original content.

If you want to rank highly you should therefore be aiming to provide users with original quality content and not simply relying on copied articles and imported RSS feed content.
