probably the most important way to start with, as it will put all your content one click closer to the initial entry point.
Either that or get some useful text content on the home page and link from there to the forums categories so it looks like you think the forum is important

Well it would! seeing at all your links will be pointing to what search engines see as a blank page with two links on it
