hey all, I had another topic about seo and keywords and making it onto google, which I learned a lot from. well, I've been planning to add a blog to my website, and I will be placing the blog in a subdomain, such as: portfoliosfriend.com/blog

would that be worsening or bettering my results by google? of course I mainly want to promote the main domain, but I will have a lot of content in the blog that pertains to the main content. I just don't' know if having the subdomain in the url will keep visitors away from the main domain. of course I will be linking back to it from the blog. any thoughts?

A subdomain isn't supposed to be blog.portfoliosfriend.com ?

A subdomain blog.portfoliosfriend.com would be a new 'website' as far as SEs are concerned while portfoliosfriend.com/blog is a directory/page in the same website.

Adding a blog is a good thing if you post quality unique content regularly.

You better make it as a subpage of your website. I think it will be more beneficial to you website.

yeah, I kinda mixed up my words there, I meant sub page. I was never going to make a sub domain for it. so it will be portfoliosfriend.com/blog. thanks for the advice everyone!

Maybe we ought to close this thread. I think if you started a new one to ask your question, but stayed away from sub domains, you'll get better (less confused) answers.
