In general, the way most people on here are thinking of using those "techniques", I would rate them all as spam. Article marketing and link exchanges are utterly useless. Forum posting will only ever drive a minimal amount of traffic and if you're not actively part of the forum, it's spam. MySpace and Facebook both have similar monthly numbers to Google in terms of unique pageviews, but to utilize them effectively, you actually need to have some value to your product or service, again, something I don't think a lot of people are willing to produce. Anything else is just spam. Leaving comments on blogs with a link back is good only if it's germane to what's being discussed, otherwise it's just spam. Someone on here a couple months ago was offering a list of do-follow blogs that were ranked PR7. When I visited the blog, the comments were all just internet marketers with links back to their site. Most of them weren't even remotely related. If that's your business model, I sincerely hope Google sandboxes you and your host suspends your account.
