Hello everyone,

this is an article about an interesting experience. Although I don't think it's relevant to do what he does because you need the title to be user friendly as well....I think it does not look professional to put that many words into a title tag.

Reading does not mean that they will be taken into consideration in the SERPs or in the Page rank, it may just be for display purpose. Till now there is nothing to indicate that the 50 words will have an effect on SERPs and PR.

Well, according to the article, it showed on google under the last keywords of his title tags. so it must have some kind of influence on the SERPs.

Say you make it into the top 10 with a title that, if you write it on paper, would stretch from San Francisco to Mexico City. When a bona fide human being (the kind with a wallet and a credit card) sees that, is it going to make that person more or less likely to click your site instead of the other 9 on the page?

Whatever the answer to that question is, is what you should do.

Agreed.
That's why I said on my first post that titles should stay user friendly.
Sites with XXL title tags i come across are usually spam sites.

I disagree, at least about having a hard and fast rule that > 50 words = spam.

My spammy page with lots of spam that has keyword stuffing spam and other kinds of spam too, lots of spam in here, this is spammy

vs

Survey of data access and persistence methods in the Microsoft .NET Framework, tracing the history from flat files of the 1960s to XML extensions of the modern era

The second one may or may not be user friendly, but it doesn't come off as spammy. If anything, it seems academic, as this is the domain where exceptionally long titles are common.

You probably would get flagged for spamming... maybe not but why risk it.

Having these many words doesn't give any better user experience. Even though if u get top in SERP's i dont think it will increase your CTR(Click through Rate)
