It's hard to guess what methods are really effective in getting backlinks. The only thing you do is try all methods and study which one is better.

It depends on the industry u belong too. Dont go with any internet scam. Try getting links from niches and try to rank in google SERPs. And participate in related forums and blog discussions.

I like to create content that's specifically designed to be extremely useful to a certain target group (preferably something fairly relevant). For instance, if I'm targeting educators, I might put together a large resource page on art projects for kids or math tricks. After that, I'll gather a list of sites that might be inclined to link to it, then send them a quick e-mail suggesting that their visitors would like it and asking for a link. Seems to work pretty well and it gets high-quality links.

^seconded - well targeted content will always help attract attention (and traffic), particularly other bloggers or siteholders are linking to your site - the better your inbound links, the better (as it were...)

Hi Tim,
Well I have 3 bloggs for each website. I add material to them weekly. They all act as a pre sale link to my web site. I write some articles and post them on my blogs. I also submit my articles with my site links. Everything is directed to my website. I don't purchase advertising so I can't help you there.

I think blog do really helps in getting traffic for a site..it will always give a hit..this is really effective once the blog is getting more visitors and well optimized..almost all link building strategies help...it will only depend on how quality you make it...

If it is only traffic to your site that you want then analyze your keyword, how competitive it is? Do you think that keyword is what mostly people search for? Then advertise it posts your products on froogle, free ads forums, blog your site and make it interesting so that readers will visit your site.

I guess all options are pretty much the same. You can also optimize the use of social networking and social bookmarking. I'm sure you have facebook or myspace account, you can actually use them to generate traffic to your new site.

Plus, if you're planning on doing blog comments...try to comment on relevant blogs, it will help a bit more..

Work work and more work, Post to forums, many of them, Start threads of content and reply to other threads. Be social, spread your signature. Keep active everyday. Set aside a portion of the day to do your blogging and be persistent. Good Pluck
