A buddy of mine who does SEO for a living read this article, and was half-way through it when he told me, "this is a bunch of old-school B.S.!". He read it for quite a while before he realized it was a joke.

PR10 Should Be Called "Ten Ways to Get Banned!"

Although some of the ideas of PR10 are actually acceptable, others are not!

Three way links, invisible text, mispelling adult words, linking to Google (while linking to other sites with (.) etc... what a pile of crap. Sorry.

Don't be following get PR quick advice. Do not do anything on your website which you consider not to be part of your true content. Do not do anything unethical. Otherwise, you will find your site removed from the index (eventually).

This thread has been a real eye-opener for me... I had no idea that some people actually just post replies, without reading either the original post properly or clicking through to the link, or reading any of the other replies - just to get their siggy links on here?

Do these people spend all day posting random replies on forums in the hope that the backlinks are going to help them?

And does that mean that may be it actually works, since there are so many of these people?

I am no SEO guru and I read the article twice, wondering if it was really true as it certainly sounded dubious. I went back and re-read the original post and then realised that I was right to mistrust it! I wonder how many people actually read the pr10 and thought it was good advice?
