So you delete some comments just because they don't make sense to you? Did you ask them for clarification? Or did you just outright ignore and delete their comments?
From my understanding, the problem they had with the article was because it did not offer one piece of advice on how to contribute to those forums, as that's what a forum's purpose is. And the owners and regular members of those places do not appreciate people signing up JUST to drop links.
I know I don't appreciate newbies who sign up with my forum to do the same thing. But I do let them if it contributes value to my community.

Yeah, those those mistakes can be quite annoying  .
Seriously though, the first quote doesn't have any "there/their/they're" mistakes. So one sentence isn't *that* bad IMO.
Plus I've know Connie (the author) for a little while now, he doesn't seem to make those types of mistakes very often (from what articles and posts I've read), and he was upset with the OP's blog post at the time of the writing. I don't know how else to explain the grammatical errors, not that they're that big of a deal though.
