The first time I have actually started a thread in this forum (good Lord...).

Not too long ago, I started this thread: Ask a funny CSS question contest, and got some good results. Now, this thread got me thinking. The questions in this forum tend to be more dumb than funny, so I feel the urgent need to address this issue.

The solution: a dumb SEO question contest.

I'll start by asking mine:

If I backlink to you and you backlink to me, does that count as two backlinks or one?

Yes, the best way is to register:
SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.net,
SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.org,
SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.us,
SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.tv,
and SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.uk,
then direct them all at SeoMasterExpertGuruMarketingAuthority.com with a 301 redirect.

My site is about a week old and has 300 inbound links all with the anchor text Hip Hop Jewelry. Why did my site reach number 3 and is now at page 23?

Sadly a true experience (well not that I would ask the question because when it happened I did know exactly what happened)

Maybe if you link to Google they'll link back to you with search results.

I don't know about that but linking to established website such as google or wikipedia or adobe will definitely increase your rankings. Unless everyone does it and it will be considered as spam and adobe rankings will go down.

We should make a list of all the people linking to other websites and sort out who is allowed to point to which website. This way, everybody's rankings will improve and therefore stay the same in the overall scale.

If I use 'aaa' instead of 'www' for my website, will it rank higher because 'a' comes before 'w'?
