I use #5 because I don't use subcategories on my site, but I do use sub-pages and sub-sub-pages (if that is even a term!) and I can see the benefit of having the keywords in the URL for the user as well, they know where they are going when they click on it instead of some long drawn out url full of meaningless numbers.

Not sure if it helps in SE's or not, but I like it!

Can you point us to an authority that says that? I thought (and you know I am learning so be nice!) that keywords did matter in URL's.

There is a Matt Cutts video somewhere where he says they may help a little but it is not worth obsessing about it, and if it is a new site Ok but don't change an existing site just for the sake of it.

If I can find it I'll post a link.

BTW the MC propaganda engine is about the nearest you'll get to authoratitve.
