I don't think there is one correct answer here. But I have had recent success using keyword | keyword

A title shouldn't be a list of keywords. It should be a well formed sentence that includes keywords.

Hello all
i think try to use the proper sentences and include only keywords.
because most bots and search engine read only 60 to 80 first correctors in title tag.(it is not a hard and fast roll) but mostly seo's recommend this.
So its better to use keywords in title tag but with proper sentence format.

you are talking about the title tag (or attribute which is the right term), not keyword tag. you should have a title there with your keyword and not just few keywords seperated by coma. if you were to use a title, then you can add , - | : etc. any one of them is right

I favour using a pipe. perfect for both keyword seperation and smoking.

Chris Hirst is correct though, any seperator will do, but please don't just make your title a list of keywords...
