Wrong.. This may have been the case 4 or 5 years ago, but it's pretty much a non-issue these days as long as the URLs are consistent and do not include session IDs..

URL re-writes are useful though.. If you subscribe to the theory that keywords in URLs make a difference in the ranking of a page then you may consider doing rewrites.. I prefer to do them to make pages easier for "people" to remember when they are trying to tell a friend where something is, or when scrolling through your browser history looking for a specific page..

But when you start off with saying that dynamic pages have trouble being indexed it makes the rest of your argument weak..

Dynamic websites are easier to optimize, if you know what you are doing. I make dynamic websites only. I do employ things such as URL rewriting, but that isn't much of a tool by itself.

The main reason that my dynamic websites have the potential to be more search engine friendly, is that I am usually creating means for articles to be written from the CMS, and then be linked to from the various pages, with abstracts, and the article title in the anchor text. I then make archive pages that link to all articles, or are organized by date. Since all of the articles link to all of the main pages, this is naturally very effective with search-engines. Meta descriptions and titles come from the article abstract, and article title. I also make title and meta tags manageable so that they are easy to control from a central location, but often, as in the case of articles, they default to some other piece of data.

Dynamic sites are in general, a much more powerful means of displaying information, which is all the search engines are after anyway.
