Question about SEO + Redirect

My directory www.xeenit.com redirects to www.xeenit.com/directory

Am I wasting my time getting backlinks for xeenit.com since it redirects? Or will xeenit.com and xeenit.com/directory have the same PR since its not a sub domain?

Kinda lost. Thanks.

Why not simply set the hosting to point the root directly to the correct folder?

But how would I do that? That would be the best thing to do, I agree.

The directory is located in /public_html/directory

How could I get xeenit.com to point to that?

Sounds like when he installed his directory he took their directions literally and installed it in a subdirectory rather than at the top level..

Most likely it's running on *nix then and you won't probably have enough access to edit the VirtualHosts configuration in httpd.conf

So, unless you are intending to use the root for something else, just reinstall the scripts to the root. copying them in cPanel will do and then remove the redirect.

phpLD defines it's own root folder when a session starts so there should be nothing to edit.

agree with chris, why not run the directory form the root? looks like you installed phpld under directory folder. only way to move it under the root is to install phpld under public_html folder

Nope, because you don't need to reinstall, just move the files.

Log into cPanel open the filemanager and copy ALL the files from /directory/ up to the root folder.
Or use FTP to download and upload them back up to the root.
