Hi.

I would like to know what do you think about url structure shown below. I will use it for image menu.

Code:
<a href="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-backgorund-1.php"><img src="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-menu-1" alt="Nature background menu 1"></a>

etc. (60+ menus)
Is this url ok or is it too spammy (for keyword nature background for axample)?

Thank you in advance

As long as your alt attribute is descriptive of the image, you are fine. Remember, it was invented to allow image-disabled browsers (such as a screenreader), to know what the content of an image is about. If you think the reading will make sense to a a screenreader, chances are it will make sense to search engines also.

Thank you for a tip about "image-disabled browsers", i didn't know that. What do you think about url-s of webpages? Which one is better? (i can't decide which one to use :/)

EXAMPLE 1

http://background.my-site.com/nature...orund-lake.php

http://background.my-site.com/nature...orund-lake.php

or

http://background.my-site.com/nature...round/lake.php

EXAMPLE 2

http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-backgorund-1.php

http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/backgorund-1.php

(60+ similar links on one site)

I would like to use the first one but i'm scared that it is too "spammy" because i will have lots of similar url-s on website. (the only keyword that i'm interesting in is for exapmle "nature background" - i'll backlinking this keyword)

Use the first one if you want to. It doesn't matter.

Image has no extension ?

You'll probably need to rename that to something.jpg / .png / .gif ( whatever )

I've written url path manually and i forgot to wrote extension. Yes, the extension is .png.

So menu like this will not cause any problems?

<a href="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-1.php"><img src="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-menu-1.png" alt="Nature background menu 1"></a><a href="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-2.php"><img src="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-menu-2.png" alt="Nature background menu 2"></a><a href="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-backgorund-3.php"><img src="http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-menu-3.png" alt="Nature background menu 3"></a> etc. (... 64 menus)?

The title of the particular pages would be:

Nature Background | Lake 1
Nature Background | Flowers

etc.

I'm just asking because i'm little bit scared if google will penalize my sites because i'm using too much "nature background" and this is, for example, the only keyword that i'll be backlinking (the primary page that i'll be backlinking would be the first one - http://background.my-site.com/nature-background/nature-background-1.php)... (the problem may also be that i'll have just a little page contet because image is image and i can descripe it only in few sentenses)

juliensimon
already said this is ok but i would also like to hear some other opinions because if i do it wrong i'll have later a looooooooot of work to change/correct it.

I'd be a lot more concerned about spiderable content on the pages you're linking to, than the path and file names you expose them through.

Ok. THx, than this is not an issue.
What about if i'm linking pages like this:

<a href="path">Nature Background: Nature 1</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: Nature 2</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: Nature 3</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: Nature 4</a>
short text
etc. (60+ links)

or like this

<a href="path">Nature Background: word-1</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: word-2</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: word-3</a>
short text
<a href="path">Nature Background: word-4</a>
short text

Again, i don't care about word-1, word-2 etc i'm only interested, for example, in "Nature background".

Could this cause problems?

(I'm asking you because i have seen some pages that are doing something similar and have got really good SERP for very competitive keywords but i think this is quite spammy. Could google ban my site because of this? What do you think? Does anyone have some experience?)
