I've been on a mission to increase my site trafffic over the last few weeks.. I started my site a few weeks ago, and I've gone from having about 0 visitors to about 200 per day.. I've submitted my site to major search engines, i've added a sitemap.xml, posted on forums, etc..

What else can I do to increase my traffic? It appears as though I'm not getting any traffic from Search engines, but I feel like I've altered my meta tags, as well as other pages correctly... I don't even see a lot of my pages shwoing up on Google.. but who knows..

What else can I do?

Time.

The thing is, very little of what you can do to try to get more search referrals will work. You can list yourself in a bazillion directories, and waste a lot of your time. Or, you could get people with an interest in what your site is about (and "Want to visit my site? Click here" is kind of vague!) to notice it. Hope to get linked by bloggers, etc, who think your site is cool.

If your site is original, well thought out, and most importantly, interesting, your traffic will grow steadily. There is no overnight solution unless your already well known and people are going to talk about your site with out any encouragement.. say for example.. if Apple released a new site... everyone would be talking about it and linking to it and searching for it.

There are lots of ways to get more traffic.. try some traditional advertising. Just don't follow the fads.. because that is what they are.. fads. Do the things that are proven, such as producing quality content as often as possible, getting quality back links in a word of mouth kind of way.. rather than listing in every directory out there, and many of the other tried and true methods.

It takes time unless you have an unlimited PR budget.

Give search engines some time (weeks or a few months) to index your pages and evaluate your content to give your site a place in their lists...if your site is interesting, original and very informative you will receive better SERPs

there are many posible strategies of link building to build traffic. Maybe you try submitting your site through social bookmarking, it may also helps to increase traffic and also forum postings.

You can do the following:

1. Article Submission
2. Forum Posting (as what you are doing)
3. Submit your site to different Social Bookmarking Sites
4. Participate in answers sites like Yahoo Answers!
5. Blog

By the way, PATIENCE is a must in the field of SEO. Maybe you will see some improvement or result regarding your site after a month...

Write interesting article and submit it to digg, write a press release and add it to multiple PR sites, add an About Us page to your site.
Let people know why your site may be interesting for them and they'll come for sure

First of all, SEO takes time. Don't expect to see results for months.

However, if you just started your site, and you're already getting 200 visitors per day (now is that visits or unique visitors?) then you're doing a lot better than most people.
