Having recently looked at my latest webstats I have noticed a large jump in the add to favourites option which has risen to 47%, God knows why!

This has obvious advantages if the people doing this are interested in my services but does it have any affect on your search engine positions?

it's just the stats getting it wrong.

Most stats package use requests for "favicon.ico" as the "add to favourites" action, because, when it was first developed that was the ONLY time it was requested.
Now just about every browser requests the favicon on visiting to the site to display it in the address bar.

And it will have absolutely no effect whatsoever with anything least of all the SEs

At least you were fairly gentle with me by your standards! I'll go away and try and think of a less dumb question...
