Something weird has been going on recently - my website was first crawled by Google a while ago, but recently pages have been displaying PR as N/A and some aren't showing up on Google anymore.

I think that someone has got a problem with my success for certain local keywords, as my site is showing up above there's in searches. Therefore, they are reporting my pages to Google, even though I don't think I've done anything wrong.

My main page has thankfully continued to show up, but my services, about and portfolio pages have been removed from certain searches. I've known a fair amount about SEO for a while, and as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing in my pages that conflict with Google's guidelines. Am I doing anything wrong?

The rankings probably just dropped, as the pages are still indexed in Google:

It happens all the time, they're never static.

Also, why do you care about their PR, Dan? Give it some time too, you just created the pages a little while ago. Although I don't know why you'd get aim for a high PR for those "support" pages, why would anyone link to them as often as other ones?

Hi James. I realise that the pages are actually listed, but it seems weird that their PR has just gone DOWN to N/A from 0 - I wasn't particularly expecting them to go up, not that it matters, but the fact that they don't have any PageRank now, when just a week ago they did, is a little strange is it not?

Dan, when you redesigned the site did you change file names? I'm assuming all the URLs are the same as they were before, but thought I'd check.

Google recently did a PR update. If the pages had little PR to begin with it's possible that the loss of even a few links over the last few months dropped their PR to a point where they show gray instead of 0.

I can't see any reason why you would have been penalized for anything and I don't think Google would automatically drop PR on certain pages just because someone reported you. That might lead to them taking a look, but I don't think they'd automatically trust someone else reporting you.

Hmm. I'm not sure whats been going on. This has been very recent - I saw a jump in the PR of pages and things a few weeks ago, then only a couple of days ago, I noticed it disappear. As long as the pages are still showing up in Google, then it probably doesn't matter.

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the pages are still pulling search traffic. It is strange, but strange can happen where search engines are concerned. In general you should be doing the same things to market your site regardless of what your PR shows anyway so it shouldn't really affect what you do.

If you notice traffic dropping to those pages then take a deeper look or post here again and we'll all take a look.
