I have been reading and searching around looking for an answer on whether or not I should use "nofollow" in the case of my site.

I review various sites and programs, I link to these sites, these sites do not link back to me unless you count my site link being in my signature on the said sites forums.

Should I use "nofollow" for the links to these large sites or no?

Looking for the best option.

the best option for what?

It doesn't really matter. If you don't want to transfer "juice" then use a rel="nofollow".

It is not mandatory to use one. Here's a nice article regarding this that might be helpful for you: http://www.bitworm.com/search/2007/w...nternal-links/

Basically, you're trying to work a scheme where you give somebody $10, then they give you $10, and then you've both profited and come out $10 ahead. Chances are the other site won't be happy about giving you $10 when they realize the $10 you gave them is counterfeit (ie nofollow). But it doesn't matter anyway.

It's up to you if you want to give PR juice or not.

There are some part of your site that needs to change as "no follow". It is a standard format for webmasters to avoid PR juice.

If you want to avoid PR juice to them, then nofollow the links!

if you are referring to internal links, it can help by adding a no follow tog to pages like

contact
register
faq
terms
sitemap
archive
you can add a nofollow tag to your links page and then allow all the links on the page the be do follow, this way if you are concerned about giving away link juice it wont matter since all the internal links pointing to your links page will be no follow so the page wont have internal PR juice to loose, however you will get good link juice back from the recpricol links from other sites

@sirtokealot = Not quite sure what you were saying in post #10 (one reason is that nofollow is an attribute value, not a tag:
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/seo-ta...nd-values.html)

And what does "nofollowing" internal links have to do with not having "PR juice" to begin with? PR is gained from the quantity and quality of inbound links. Other sites may still link to it (thus giving it "PR juice").

Forgive me it was late last night, allow me to be more accurate.
We all know that with most websites 90% of their inbound links are pointing to the index page so this tends to be the page that has the highest PR.
Then if you visit the internal pages, usually down the left column (which is also one of the 1st lines of HTML inside the <body>) we have the same old stuff -

* Home
* Gallery
* Characters
* Downloads
* Avatars
* Banners
* Forums
* Guest Book
* Soundboards
* Puzzles
* FAQ
* Blogs
* Contact us
* Links

Now if i was anal about PR, which i aint, but if i was it would make sense to add a "nofollow" attribute to the following links

* Guest Book
* FAQ
* Contact us
* Links

Why? Because almost every site has got this section. If you wanted to focus where you direct your link juice this is the way you would go about it.

Also if every internal link that points to your Links page has a "nofollow" attribute, you wont lose PR from your links page and you can go and get all those recipricol links you have wanted but thought it might not be worth it.

sounds really good until you come to the one thing that makes complete nonsense of the whole idea.

A page does NOT "lose" PR through links

I wouldn't worry too much about nofollow links, Google likes to see that your site leads to other places. I doubt you would see any difference in traffic as a result of doing that.
