Seems that it's taking goole longer than expected to index my site. I've made submissions to yahoo, altavista, and well over 20 other search engines (some meta). Granted it's been a while since I designed a web page, i don't remember it taking this long though. I was told the reason might be that the site isn't considered "search engine friendly" or SEO. It's no where near done, feel free to take a look though.

1: "submitting" to search engines will get you nothing.

2: is there some compelling reason that search engines would want to index your site? Given that it is just another "free" download site amongst thousands of others.

I think your target keywords is to general
competition your keywords is to high

well, are doing something to get it indexed by google? I hear SB can help a lot with this stuff.

to add some, try submitting your url sitemap on other SE for faster crawling

Write a sweet article and submit it to digg at about 9pm GMT and then hope for the best

Create sitemap.xml and then submit to google webmaster tool

Our church website is also slow getting index. I've done all the things you're supposed to do (add url, sitemap, in bound links etc) but nothing has been indexed yet. I got the church listed in top position on google maps uk

(search for "st lawrence barnwood" in google maps).

Our URL is:

Hopefully it will get indexed one day...

Write good and well optimized content...Google and the rest of search engines will love your site and index it faster and for longer
