Is it just me, or is the internet crashing at an ubelievable rate? All the statistics for every site are going down down down. If it was the stock market, it would be considered a crash.

Why is this happening? How long until it goes back up?

I haven't seen considerable changes in the website I look after. Not enough to say that internet is crashing. Visitors have been stable or up (people don't spend money anymore so they stay home on their computer). The only data that is going is unfortunately the most important one: the number of sales. But it's not related to the internet therefore we can't say internet is crashing. The economy got a cold so internet is sneezing.

The number of visitors to my blog has been going up, even though I've been posting less frequently as of late. So, no crash.

Maybe people are shopping less on the internet. That would follow logically from having less money to spend.

Or maybe people got tired of regurgitated "content" that fills the net, and are seeking out original ideas?

Nah - that's a crazy thought

As sad as it is, most people don't actually understand the internet to its extend (I'm not talking about internet savvy people but people like my parents) and I don't think they make the difference between a website that has proper unique content to one that scraps and regurgitate content just for the sake of many a couple of bucks.

My dad discovered powerpoint and youtube and send me more junk emails than spammers - I might have to block him

It actually would be insane - the world would be in such a chaos. I moved last week and didn't have internet for 4 days. It was so weird. (well, no internet at home but internet at work so still....)

The news yesterday said that the retail shopping growth rate this year has been 0.1% from last year which is pretty bad, but the Internet shopping rate is up 16.5% which is excellent for people like us!. People are turning to the internet to save money. Next year will probably be worse.

I've not noticed any problems with any sites.

I think you are taking about the slump in global market. Well, all business are infected because of this.

Hey its not internet crash, its all about the country economic problem..
i dnt think so its a internet crash because lots of visitors are there to mine blog and it give good traffic also....
