It's not that hard. All you need is patience and a health card that covers for your eye care. I'm sure you'll need an eyeglass to read all those blogs and forum chats.

Every work starts at being hard until you get the hang of it and maybe someday a Master!! So work hard and always ask questions when you need one, you can learn a lot by asking someone who knows about it!! That's all

That's right. if you're a beginner in SEO then I understand why it feels hard for you jingwen and when you have enough experience in SEO you can say that "its not that that hard after all". I remember the first time I encountered the words social bookmarking and directory submission, I was very mixed up but then when I first succeeded in doing those methods I feel like I'm getting the hang of this SEO thing. at first you may think that SEO is hard but its actually Fun doing SEO in the long run.

I do social bookmaking to organize, search, store, submit and manage my bookmarks on the internet. In doing this I gain traffic and some bakclinks. In doing a directory submission I can have permanent links that goes directly to my site which can help bring more traffic and also Submitting to directories is a great way to build links and increase your search engine rankings. these two are part of my methods on search engine optimization.

It is not optimizing but it could help build back links by users linking back to good articles. You cant just rely on seo for a website you need to promote market and optimize a site for it to become popular.

Nope, wrong way around. Optimising can be or is part of Search Engine Marketing as is the promotion. But marketing is not part of optimising.

No it doesn't there may be people suggesting new "tricks" to fool search engines which will ultimately fail and then need the pages to be redone, but REAL SEO is the same as it's been since the day it was first introduced.
Marketing is an ever changing process to keep up with seasonal fluctuations, target market and target user trends. Optimising simply means making something be the best it can, and THAT isn't ever going to change.

yes marketing is not part of optimization of site. getting and wanting backlinks from article and forum is not marketing , this is indirect optimization,,,,,,

oh sry, i meant search engines are changing their rules and strictness , and vise versa, so it doesnt meant that they r changing rules for their profit, SE are always been benefial for us, especially google. why dont they shuld be........?

I don't really think that its that difficult, its just confusing. there are lots of articles and threads out there that are the same in topic but have different views, different suggestions. the good thing is that we can always decide for ourselves which one to do, with a little bit of effort to research about the field.

no i dont think so, as u said that different views and opinion gets harmed one's attention towards a topic...

while learning and analysing different opinion , we can get decision that which is good and getting accepted by majority....,....its like bargaining abt ur perfect answer, forums site r always giving me exact answer , its depend on each forum site and their existed proffessional......who having good reputaion..isnt it?

that's almost as useless a phrase as "off page optimising"

getting or placing links is advertising!! if you had a real shop, would you think that going and handing out flyers or putting poster up was improving your premises? No of course you wouldn't.
So why is there this stupidity that getting links is somehow improving your site??

YOU ARE ADVERTISING IT'S PRESENCE!!

And no, search engines are NOT "always changing their rules".

There is only ONE rule that SEs enforce and that is "Don't try to fool us". There are plenty of people around who are trying to find ways around the SE algos, it's they who keep on claiming that SE change the "rules" constantly. What they really mean is that "Oh **** we've been rumbled again, so we'll have to redo all our pages again"!
